As of today, @PhoenixPolice will no longer employ the “carotid hold” in the line of duty. This is a form of choke hold that cuts off blood flow through the carotid arteries to the brain. As Mayor of Phoenix, I strongly support the decision of @PhxPDChief.

La alcaldesa de Phoenix, Kate Gallego, dio su respaldo a la decisión de la Jefa del Departamento de Policía de esa ciudad, Jodi Williams, de que los oficiales no utilicen más un dispositivo llamado “carotid hold”, el cual sirve para crear un shock en el cerebro en el cual pueda desmayar al delincuente.
Esto actua al presionar las arterias carotidas y evitar que llegue sangre al cerebro.
